You're welcome!

Side note: I just realized that you can see a bunch of windmills in the background of this pano that are half way to Cornwall, and they look massive. Isn't that insane? This was taken with the 10x zoom lens on my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. Pretty neat.

Any idea where those windmills/wind turbines are roughly?

Great photo. I was on that trail last August and the downtown Ottawa skyline wasn't as pronounced. You have a good camera lens.

I actually took this with my phone! Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has a 10x optical zoom lens. Those turbines are in the Chesterville/Avonmore/Finch area.

Dude, I was there a few years ago almost from the exact spot. There were no turbines but I could see mountains in NY State. I am going to try to find the photo and subsequent comments to compare.

Hey friends, I just want to mention that I drive around Eastern Ontario, Montreal, and Toronto regularly for work and personal reasons with a couple of drones in my trunk. I stop and throw them up when I feel inspiration, but if you want a specific shot I would be happy to try to grab it during my travels. Request lines are open.

I know, we are all supposed to use the Confed Line in the future, if it is actually functioning.

If anyone is feeling burnt out or stressed or tired of pandemic or dreading Christmas or anything along those lines... Ottawa is looking very colorful at the moment. Or maybe you just want to stretch your legs, a lap around the market and Sparks will be a great chance to enjoy the balmy weather this week.

Don't forget the tower currently going up next to Cathedral Hill, which would probably block one of the Moon towers from this vantage point!

Too bad most of that density, at least in the CBD, is all empty office space and not actual vibrant residential density.

Another great shot Harley. It's amazing to be able to see the Nation Rise wind farm from so far away - I assume that's where the turbines are. I think the most southerly turbine is about ~73KM away from King Mountain just south of Brinston. https://www.google.com/maps/place/King+Mountain+Trail,+Chelsea,+QC/@44.9365435,-75.3522462,2103m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x4cd1e2d716056cad:0xef9a6d9d68d1d255!8m2!3d45.489637!4d-75.8620656

There's actually a government database/map of every single wind turbine in the country: https://search.open.canada.ca/openmap/79fdad93-9025-49ad-ba16-c26d718cc070

That Canadian Wind Turbine Database is very cool, but it must be out of date, as it shows just 10 turbines near South Mountain. There are more than that in the photo.

That Western skyline is going to be quite a dramatic backdrop to Parliament in a few years.

This street really needs some colors

I mean, we have some red brick, buff brick, teal glass, the O-Train pylons. We'll have the AC Marriott's red whatever that is, Envie's LED strips. As far as Ottawa streets go, this isn't bad. But Royale will be a dark presence once complete.

Cross-post 3, Rideau looking very urban. Almost Yonge Street-esque.

Lots of cranes in that image

This seems like a better spot for rapid transit though:

Good thing they can walk a block west to rideau station. A rideau/montreal corridor above a surface tram would be a much worse opportunity cost than a few infill stations

One station as part of a suburban light-metro line. Doesn't help anyone who lives in Vanier or the eastern part of Rideau.

Rideau itself might be able to handle a tram, but as soon as it crosses the Cummings Bridge, it would be stuck in the same gridlock as everyone else.

Never knew this view of Ottawa existed! The buildings on the far left are Terrasses de La Chaudière and you get a nice view of the Metropole. Would be cool to see what this view is like once Scott Street rises up!

Edit: Rocketfish can u fix the image? :)

There is a cool view of Metropole and environs from the big curve on St. Raymond near Pink. It only looks cool at sunset. One time I was there and there was some awesome river fog that obscured everything but the top of Metropole.

Took me a sec to identify where this was. Rail (and prospect of rail) has really prompted a transformation of the corridor compared to the Transitway.
