Xiong'an New Area is a national level new area established by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on April 1, 2017. It is located in the central part of Hebei Province, in the hinterland of Beijing, Tianjin, and Baoding. It is a centralized carrier for the relocation of non capital functions in Beijing, with the goal of creating a green and intelligent 'future city'.
It consists of regions such as Xiong County, Rongcheng, and Anxin, with a planned total area of approximately 1770 square kilometers. It is committed to building a "1-hour transportation circle" connecting Beijing and Tianjin, and developing high-end industries such as aerospace information and artificial intelligence.
At present, the headquarters of central enterprises, universities, and hospitals have successively settled in, and the urban framework has basically taken shape. The ecology continues to improve, and the forest coverage rate has reached 35.1%. The water quality of Baiyangdian is stable at Class III.
