| Drechterland is a municipality in the east of Noord-Holland. It was formed in 1979 from the municipalities of Hoogkarspel and Westwoud under the name of "Bangert". It was renamed its current name, Drechterland, just a year later. In 2006, the municipality of Venhuizen was added to Drechterland. |
