Wirges is a municipality and small city in the district of Westerwald. It is situated in the Westerwald 5 km northwest of Montabaur, and 20 km northeast of the city of Koblenz. The municipality is also the seat of the Verbandsgemeinde ("collective municipality") of the same name. The city was granted city rights in 1975.
