Drimmelen is a municipality and town in the south-central part of the county, and located at the north end of Nationaal Park De Biesbosch. It was created in 1997 through the combining of the towns of Made, Drimmelen, Terheijden, Hooge, and Lage Zwaluwe, and called Made from 1997 to 1998 when the name was changed to Drimmelen. The community is still heavily agricultural.
