Qingyuan, also known as "Fengcheng", is a prefecture level city in Guangdong Province, located in the central northern part of the province. It borders Shaoguan to the east, Guangzhou and Foshan to the south, Zhaoqing to the west, and Hunan and Guangxi to the north. It governs Qingcheng District, Qingxin District, Fogang County, Lianshan Zhuang and Yao Autonomous County, Liannan Yao Autonomous County, Yangshan County, and manages two county-level cities, Yingde and Lianzhou. As of the end of 2022, the city has a permanent population of 3.9857 million,a total land area of 19000 square kilometers, and a total GDP of 203.202 billion yuan for the whole year of 2022
Qingyuan City has a complex terrain, with most of its geology being the Hunan Guangdong fold belt of the Huaxia activated land platform. The city's terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast and it belongs to a subtropical monsoon climate. As of the end of 2020, Qingyuan had 751 mineral deposits and nearly 200 species of plant resources. By the beginning of 2022, Qingyuan has won many honors, among which the most prominent ones are China's Hometown of Drifting, Top Ten Green Cities, the most distinctive tourist cities, China's Rural Poetry City, China's Loong Boat Town, etc.

The cultural tourism activities in Qingyuan are rich and colorful, from the annual hot spring festival, drifting festival, and Qingyuan chicken food festival, to the Lianzhou International Photography Exhibition, to the scenic spots such as Qiqing Cave, Lianzhou Underground River, Yingde Baojing Palace, Shenbi Cave, Jinlong Cave, etc. in the northern mountainous areas of Qingyuan, becoming beautiful scenic spots in the tourism industry of Qingyuan City
