Anshan, also known as Gangdu or Yudu, is a prefecture level city under the jurisdiction of Liaoning Province, located in the central part of the Liaodong Peninsula. It borders Liaoyang County in the east and north, Fengcheng City and Zhuanghe City in the southeast, Dashiqiao City in the south, and Panshan County and Liaozhong County in the west. As of the end of 2020, Anshan had a total area of 9255 square kilometers, with 55 townships, 40 street offices, 830 administrative villages, and 348 community committees under its jurisdiction. In 2022, the total registered residence population of the city will be 3.306 million. The regional gross domestic product is 186.32 billion yuan. In May 2021, Anshan was listed on the list of the top 100 branded cities in China's prefecture level cities. In May 2021, the "2021 City Business Charm Ranking" was released, and Anshan was classified as a third tier city in 2021.
