Dongguan, referred to as "Dongguan" for short, is a prefecture level city and megacity under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province . It is located in the central and southern part of Guangdong Province, on the east bank of the the Pearl River Estuary, and in the the Pearl River Delta downstream of the Dongjiang River. Named after its location to the east of Guangzhou and abundant production of Dongguan grass. The easternmost point is Yinpingzui Mountain in Qingxi Town, bordering Huiyang District of Huizhou City; The westernmost point is the Lion Ocean Central Route northwest of Xidatan in Shatian Town, bordering Panyu District and Nansha District of Guangzhou across the sea.
