Wenzhou is a prefecture level city under the jurisdiction of Zhejiang Province, located in the eastern region of China, southeast of Zhejiang, on the south bank of the lower reaches of the Ou River. It borders the East China Sea to the east, Fujian Province to the south, Lishui to the west and northwest, and Taizhou to the north and northeast. It is one of the 27 cities in the central area of the Yangtze River Delta. The terrain within the area slopes in a trapezoidal shape from southwest to northeast. It is a subtropical monsoon climate zone with significant alternation between winter and summer monsoons. In 192 BC, Wenzhou was the capital of Prince Taiyao of Dongou. In 323 AD, the county was established as Yongjia County. Legend has it that during the construction of the county city, a white deer carrying flowers surrounded the city, hence the name Lucheng. It was first called Wenzhou in 675 AD. On May 7th, 1949, Wenzhou was peacefully liberated and Wenzhou City was established. In September 1981, the Wenzhou region and Wenzhou city merged to establish Wenzhou city, implementing a city managed county system. 265.6 kilometers of urban roads have been newly renovated, 100 dead end roads have been opened, and BRT has basically formed a ring network.
