Description - The building name literally translates as "NucleoBoilMach", which stands for Nuclear Boiler Machinery Research Institute, a name that remains since the Soviet days, when it was constructed as a research facility; in the 1990's, the building was relaunched as a commercial office.
- The building marks the west terminus of Theater Square, the city's largest public space; the square is bound by similarly monumental structures on all sides - Gorky Drama Theater to the north, railroad headquarters to the southeast, and the World War 2 memorial complex to the south, centered around a 72 meter tall stella; Atomkotlomash is a key element of the dramatic composition as its curved highrise facade is frequently used for WWII memorial banners, as well as commercial advertising during the off-holiday season.
- One of the tallest buildings in the city upon completion, Atomkotlomash was frequently seen as a prominennt landmark during the Soviet period.
