Description
Telecommunication tower built of reinforced concrete, which was planned in 1960 to use as relay transmitter for the second TV program of GDR. When installing technical equipment in the tower between 1960 and 1963, it was decided to use the tower as radio measurement control post. The tower went now as a radar board of control of the German post office (RADIOCON) into enterprise. After the turn this board of control became redundant. The tower was sealed and the technical plants those were not removed, purged today. In the year 2007 there were a damage investigation and following security work, which were accomplished by Industriekletterer of the company STH. Shortly are to result to large areas on that about 3 hectar around the tower spare time, sport and recovery area from the company hajabu administrations. Whether also the tower becomes accessible thereby, is uncertain. This use went obsolete after German reunification. Since 2007, the tower seems to be unused today.
