• It is the terrority's governemnt building.
• The Nunavut Construction Corporation laid the first foundation pile for the Nunavut Legislative Assembly on the site in May 1998. The building was dedicated to the first Members of the Legislative Assembly for the Government of Nunavut on March30 1999, two days before the establishment of the new territory.
