Description • Two pylons are part of the HVDC Three Gorges-Changzhou, a 500 kV HVDC powerline running from the Three Gorges dam (static inverter plant: Longquan) to Changzhou (static inverter plant: Zhengping ). On these pylons, which carry 2 conductors, HVDC Three Gorges-Changzhou crosses Yangtze River with a span width of 1910 metres. Both pylons are tubular steel structures and the tallest pylons of an HVDC powerline in the world.
