Description
• Largest Hindu temple in Indonesia.
• It was abandoned shortly after its construction, possibly due to the eruption of the Merapi Volcano, and began to deteriorate soon after.
• A reconstruction began in 1918.
• The main temple reconstruction was completed in 1953.
• It suffered significant damage as a result of the May 2006 earthquake.
