Description
Architect: H. Leiber

Contractor: St. Johann, embellishment association.

- Important Observation tower built of concrete with square cross section.

- The 77 year old Tower was on 12. January 1930 after 6-week construction phase built and at its time was a sensation.

- Two editions had to fulfil the plans: the floors might not be connected by spiral staircase with each other and the uppermost floor should serve as an assembly room. The Nature enthusiasts tried to prevent the construction.

- The tower over the second world war got only light damages. Already in 1949 he was put again completely in fit state. Since the 1950s various operators use the location height (a total of 417 metres about the sea level) for radio purposes. 1st August, 1996 the popular Saarbrucken destination was taken up in the monument list of Saarland. 241 steps lead on the uppermost view platform which offer for visitors and guests - also without binoculars - a fantastic look of the highest point of the Saarbrucken city above the forest environment.
