Description Guyed mast, insulated against ground, equipped with a cage antenna used for high power longwave and mediumwave broadcasting.
Until November 5th, 2001 there were two such masts at Krasny Bor. On November 5th, 2001 one of these masts was destroyed by a helicopter collision and replaced by the mentioned 271.4 metre tall mast.
Note: Krasny Bor transmitter works on 234 kHz with 1200 kW, 549 kHz with 100 kW, 801 kHz with 1000 kW and 1494 kHz wth 1000 kW, is therefore one of the most powerful radio stations on the world. Beside this, there are also many towers for high power shortwave transmitters on the site.
