Description
Water tower with revolving restaurant, well-known sight of Aachen.

Tower is since 1988 not any more used as water tower. In 1990 it got state as protected monument.
Revolving restaurant of tower was closed between beginning of 1990ies and 2005.

The Water Tower Belvedere is located on the Lousberg hill 45m higher than city. It was built in 1956. The water tower Belvedere accommodates a revolving restaurant, which revolves once every 56 minutes since 1970. It has one elevator to all storeys avoiding the 173 steps stairscase. The terrace diameter is 21 m, and without it 18,5 m.
Since 1990 is the restaurant as Technical Monument with typical 50ies elements to Aachen city. The Water compartment was in 1980 empty at righthand the Buchenallee, with its 45m Niveau above city, with constant pression of 4,5 bar before as water tower mechanical use. In 1988 was again as water tower complete reopened.
