Sculptor & Artist: Victor Brecheret

Of authorship of Victor Brecheret inaugurated together with the Park Ibirapuera for the commemorations of the fourth centenary of city foundation, the monument represents the memory to Portuguese pioneers and to an Indian guide among several etnic people in the effort to explore the country. There is also the representation of other races that participated of the flags, like the black men and half-breeds, all in an union of force to load the canoe off the monsoons.
