• This tower was built at the site of the first television studios in Latin America, known as Palácio do Rádio, owned by the former TV Tupi broadcasting station studios, which was demolished to make way for the new facility in the late 1970's, that existed since 1950 in that address.
• As the Tupi television network went bankrupt in 1980, only the new studios complex could be inaugurated on time the TV tower was completed later by one of its successor broadcasting channels, SBT, which today rent the studios out to Abril communication group, which keeps there the headquarters of the paid TV station ESPN Brasil.
• There is a restaurant for use exclusively by corporation executives in the tower.
