- The Carl Alexander is located atop the 639-meter Rinberg, and has been maintenanced fairly regularly to keep the tower in good shape.

- The tower replaces and older wooden tower of the same name, both of which were named after Duke Carl Alexander. The original tower was constructed 1867, but collapsed in 1896.
