Description
- Architect: Truman O. Angell

- This was the first temple built by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after the death of Joseph Smith, Jr.

- The temple is the oldest church still used by the Latter-day Saints.

- The temple underwent and extensive renovation/restoration in the 1970's and was rededicated in 1975.

- The temple is done in the Castellated Gothic styled or architecture, and faced in native red sandstone plastered white.
