Description
- Architect: Albert Speer

- Deutsches Stadion was designed as the Nazi Party's rally grounds, and modeled after the Odeon of Herodes Atticus in Athens.

- It was originally envisioned as the largest stadium in the world, seating 400,000 persons on five tiers of seats. Its pink granite facade would have rose approximately 90 meters, with 65-meter-high arches.

- Construction began in 1937, but was halted in 1939 at the start of World War II in Germany.

- The stadium's pit became flooded in 1945, and created the Silbersee (Silver Sea) artificial lake.
