• Park MGM Las Vegas originally opened as the Monte Carlo Las Vegas on June 21, 1996. The resort was inspired by the Monte Carlo Casino in Monaco. The property rebranded to Park MGM Las Vegas in 2018 after undergoing a 2 year renovation project that occurred in phases while the resort continued operating. The new name refers to The Park, a dining and entertainment district constructed next door.
• The then Monte Carlo Las Vegas suffered a rooftop fire on January 25, 2008 which damaged the tower's upper facade. The resort was successfully evacuated and no lives were lost.
