• Harrah's Las Vegas was originally opened as Holiday Casino in 1973, as a one-tower hotel and casino designed by Homer Rissman. Holiday Casino underwent two major expansions in 1983 (adding Mardi Gras North Tower, designed by Rissman) and 1989 (adding the Carnival Tower, designed by Martin Stern Jr). The complex was renamed Harrah's Las Vegas in 1992.
