The Estonian Maritime Academy (Kopli 101) is a majestic neoclassical landmark at the tip of the Kopli peninsula, originally built between 1912–1914 as the administrative center for the Russo-Baltic Shipyard.
Designed by the renowned St. Petersburg academician Aleksandr Dmitriyev, the 8,000 m² limestone complex is defined by its grand symmetrical wings and a signature central clock tower that originally functioned as a water tower.
Following a major modernization completed in 2024–2025, the facility now serves as Estonia’s primary maritime competence center under TalTech, housing the Baltics' most advanced ship simulators (newly upgraded by Kongsberg in 2025), a dedicated Dynamic Positioning center, and the 2016 built Admiral Johan Pitka Engineering House.
This protected cultural monument integrates historic Art Nouveau details with high-tech laboratories, providing a high level training environment for over 800 students pursuing careers in navigation, ship mechanics, and maritime technology.
