• The Wells Fargo Center was Jacksonville's tallest building from 1974 to 1990, surpassed by the Bank of America Tower, it was also the tallest building in the state of Florida from 1974 to 1981, surpassed by the Tampa City Center.

• The building is known for being one of Jacksonville's most prominent skyscrapers, with its oversized signage, glass facade, and slanted base.

• Until the 1990's the building was called Independent Life Building and subsequently renamed Modis Building. Today the tower is known as Wells Fargo Center.
