Description The Muuga Grain Terminal is a premier, ice-free Baltic logistics hub that was originally constructed in 1986 as part of the initial development of Muuga Harbour, designed by the Soviet State Institute for Transport Projects and modernized by the current operator MGT Muuga Grain Terminaal OÜ.
The terminal features a 48-silo elevator with an average height of 64 meters and a 300,000-ton capacity, equipped with advanced aspiration systems for environmental cleanliness, temperature sensors for 24/7 grain monitoring, and certified electronic scales (EVS 745:2010) to support a massive annual transshipment capacity of up to 3 million tons for export and 5 million tons for import.
Utilizing two deep-water berths (17.5m depth, 330m length) serviced by four Bühler loaders (two mechanical at 1000 t/h and two pneumatic at 250 t/h), the facility includes an on site laboratory for real time quality analysis and a sophisticated network of belt, chain, and vertical bucket conveyors to facilitate seamless loading and unloading for ships, trucks, and rail hopper cars.
