- Approved by City Council in December 2004, but original proposal was declined by the Chief Administrative officer of Sør-Trønderlag in March 2006.

- Ground-breaking occured in February, 2006.

- The City Council approved the proposal again on August 31, 2006.

- Construction of the building was already started the day after the approval, on September 1, 2006.
