- Completed in 1920, the Hotel Durant (named after the Billy Durant, the found of General Motors) was the largest and most upscale hotel in Flint. Along with hotel rooms, the ground floor include a bank branch, a drug store, and shoe store among other shops and services.
- The hotel was shuttered in 1973, purchased in 2005 by the Genesee County Land Bank for renovation, and remained so until Karp & Associates of Lansing began a $30 renovation of the hotel in 2008 (to be completed in 2009) which included converting the former 250-room hotel into a 93-unit upscale apartment building.
