History:
The courthouse was dedicated and opened for business on September 3, 1891 at an approximate cost of $320,000. The five-story structure was of Romanesque style and constructed from Cleveland (Ohio) sandstone. The interior was finished in natural red oak, and the offices "elegantly furnished and well-equipped with vaults and every facility for preserving County records." The building contains four courtrooms and a first-class law library.
