• The Obelisk of the Ibirapuera, monument that pays tribute to heroes of the Revolution Constitutional of 1932, is a project of the Italian sculptor Galileo Emendabili, who reached Brazil in 1923 escaping of the fascist regime established in his country. The monument was inaugurated officially a year after the inauguration of the Park of the Ibirapuera in 1954.

• Its construction began in 1947 and was ended only in 1970. Knocked down by the state and municipal councils of preservation of the historical inheritance, the mausoleum that exists inside the Obelisk guards the ashes of four students killed during a protest against the first government Swampy lowlands - Martins, Miragaia, Drausio and Camargo-, whose initials form the acronym MMDC, the great symbol of the revolution. The existent crypt in the Monument also maintains the ashes of another 713 ex-combatants.

• Revolution of 1932 and War Of São Paulo were the names given to the armed movement occurred in Brazil between July and October of 1932 aiming at the falling of the provisional government of Getúlio Vargas and to the institution of a constitutional regime after the abolition of the Constitution of 1891 for the Revolution of 1930.

• From the graves of the heroes, in the basement of the Monument, up to the top there are 81 meters, number which sum of the numerals and the square root turn in 9. The height of the Obelisk belongs of 72 meters: again the sum is the same as 9. There are nine steps in the entry and, internally, there are three groups of three arches, forming 9 arches, joined " in the triple perfection ". The length of the base of the Obelisk has 9 meters, it at the top has 7 meters, and the width of the crypt has 32 meters, in other words, the date of the revolution: 09.07.1932.

• The simbology is also present in the drawing of the lawn around the Monument, which has area of 1.932 square meters and forms a heart where the sword (symbol of the Obelisk) pass though, that consecrated the political victory, in spite of the military defeat of the persons from Sao Paulo. At last, while seeing his government in risk, president Getúlio Vargas gives beginning to the process of reconstitucionalization of the country, leading to the promulgation in 1934 of a new Constitution.
