- Tallest Building in the Times Square Area (only counting buildings in the part of Times Square where Seventh Avenue and Broadway meet.
- Headquarters of Viacom.
- Viacom the entertainment conglomerate incorporating Nickelodeon and MTV first signed a lease at the One Astor Plaza in 1990 and moved its studios to the building. Today, popular MTV shows like TRL (Total Request Live) are filed here overlooking Times Square.
- The One Astor Plaza was originally known as the W.T. Grant Building, there used to be a "Grants" logo perched on the crown.
