Description
- Architect (original): Heins and LaFarge

- Architect (last): Ralph Adams Cram

- Once completed, the two west towers above the facade will rise to a height of 268 feet (81.7 meters), and the central spire will tower 455 feet (138.7 meters) above the ground.

- This is the largest Gothic cathedral in the world.

- The cathedral is awaiting funds to resume mason training and construction work.

- The building suffered a major fire in December 2001 which destroyed the North Transept and left the interior of the nave 45% darker than it had been before.

- The building experienced many setbacks in its early days, including two years of digging without reaching bedrock.
