Description
- Castaways closed in 2004 and Demolition started with a wrecking ball on July 2005. On January 11th, 2006 the tower was imploded at 7:00AM.

- After the implosion the S and the Y where the only letters from the rooftop CASTAWAYS sign that survived.

- Before Castaways the hotel was called the Showboat, in 2000 the hotel was sold off by the owner due to continued poor preformance.

- The property was sold again to Station Resorts in 2004 because the new owners could not make the required payments to the mortgage company.
