Description
The mast was originally insulated against ground as it was designed not only as FM-/TV-transmitter, but also as ground-fed mast radiator for the mediumwave frequency 774 kHz. In 2004 however, it was converted in a grounded structure. For the mediumwave transmissions a long wire antenna was spun between the helix building and the second guy wire level.
This antenna was dismantled after the mediumwave transmitter was shut-down in 2015. However the insulators in the guy wires are still there.
