- Length x Width: 363 m x 225 m

- The structure was originally constructed as a hangar for proposed a CargoLifter freight zeppelin called "Aerium", but the company went out of business just a year or two after the hangar was completed.

- Tanjong Public Limited Company of Malaysia purchased the hanger and the surrounding grounds after the hangar was shuttered, and transformed it into the Tropical Islands indoor resort, Europes only tropical resort, which opened on December 19, 2004.

- The resort includes a tropical rain forest environment, and the themed resorts of Tropical Flower World, Tropical Food Village, Tropical Rainforest Hill, Tropical Sea, and Bali lagoon.

- The structure encloses a volume of 5.2 million cubic metres making it the largest building in terms of volume, on earth, upon its completion.

- The structure is also is the world's largest single hall without supporting pillars.
