A landmark memorial building for the Chinese people to welcome the new millennium and the new century
The main building of the Chinese Century Altar consists of two underground floors and three above ground floors, with a height of 39 meters and a diameter of 85 meters. It consists of a stationary corridor and a rotating altar surface, with the rotating altar body designed in a 19 degree slope shape. The weight of the rotating jar is 3200 tons, and the rotating jar body adopts a track type scheme. The mechanical metal structure of the rotating mechanism is assembled with 1900 components. The rotating altar surrounds the outer wall and is engraved with 56 ethnic symbol decorations, carved from beigua granite. There are 40 bronze sculptures of "Chinese cultural celebrities" in the corridor. At the center of the rotating steel structure of the Century Altar is a horizontal circular platform with a diameter of 14 meters, which can serve as the central performance stage for large-scale outdoor performances such as literature, dance, symphony, etc. The steps above the sloping surface can accommodate thousands of people to watch the performance
The Chinese Century Altar Project has important aesthetic principles, which embody the beauty of "harmony" and "harmony", reflecting the "coordinated development of humanity and nature", the ideal brilliance of combining scientific spirit and morality, and the idea of mutual exchange and harmonious integration of Eastern and Western cultures. In terms of overall artistic design, the Chinese Century Altar takes "water" as its pulse, "stone" as its soul, and deepens the artistic conception with poetic and condensed language and the technique of Chinese artistic freehand brushwork, revealing the unique cosmology and aesthetic spirit of the Chinese nation. The flowing water of the sunken square, the clear stream on the bronze corridor, and the altar, square, and walkway paved with over 40000 square meters of yellow granite are all manifestations of this artistic design. Based on the characteristics of its surrounding environment and the theme spirit, the main colors of the Chinese Century Altar are determined to be yellow and green. All artificial buildings have a yellow tone, highlighting the humanistic spirit of the Chinese nation; The use of trees as a means of dividing space, combined with carefully planted lawns and green belts, creates a green environment and creates an atmosphere of "harmony between man and nature". From the Chinese Century Altar to the end of the street where it is located, a total of 270 meters long, represents the 95% respect of emperors throughout history
