Architect: Wyatt C. Hedrick & Co.

- estimated construction cost was $600,000 USD
- features a 12-foot red beacon on the roof for nearby aircraft
- once housed the Cherokee Ballroom on the 11th floor
- closed as a hotel on June 1, 1970, due to competition from chain hotels
- purchased by the Monroe Housing Authority in 1973
- renovated in 1976-1978 by Breck Construction Co. to become a retirement home
- renovated in 2012 to return the lobby to its original 1930s state
- extensively renovated on its exterior in 2021-2022
