Madrid Nuevo Norte1 is a project by Adif (the state-owned company that manages railroad infrastructure), through the company Crea Madrid Nuevo Norte, formerly known as DUCH (Desarrollos Urbanísticos de Chamartín) and DCN (Distrito Castellana Norte).
BBVA, the construction company San José and Merlin Properties are participating in it for the remodeling of an important part of the north of Madrid, under the initiative of the last municipal governments to remodel the partial plan that affected the area.
The action affects some 311 hectares (over 5.6 km in length parallel to the train tracks), and involves the creation of 3.3 million square meters in the north of the Chamartín district.
