Description
Architect: Robert Krapfenbauer

Papstwarte is an observation tower with a 5 metres tall cross as pinnacle,
which was built for the visit of Austria by pope Johannes Paul II, who however did not visit it.
Originally it had only one observation deck in a height of 24.5 metres. In 1988 the cross on its top was removed and the
tower was made of 7 metres taller by setting up a cylindical structure with an outside spiral staircase on its structure. On this higher structure
the pinnacle cross was put up again, so it reached its actual height.
