The Line is a mega project called "City of the Future" aimed at creating a zero carbon, car free linear city.
Length 170 km, Width 200 m.
The initial plan was to build some areas (accommodating 1.5 million residents) by 2030, but the current goal has been reduced to "up to 300000 people settling in" by 2030.
Rumours that the project had been scale down was rejected by the Saudi government in 2024. Stating an intended completion date of 2045 at the same time.
In late 2025, the project was officially put on hold.
