Description
- Pieterskerk had a tall tower of 105 meters from 1290 to 1512, which was nicknamed "Coningh der Zee" (Kong of the Sea). The tower collapsed on March 5th, 1512 and was not rebuilt.

- The church building is still standing, but ceased to be used for regular church service in 1971, and it's ownership and management was transferred to a foundation, De Stichting Pieterskerk Leiden, in 1975. It is now used for as an events space and tourist monument.
