Description
Architect: Gustave Magnel; Léon Stynen

- This tower was proposed by Ghent civil engineer Gustave Magnel as a 635-meters-high concrete telecommunications tower for Expo 58, which would have become the tallest tower of the world. The Antwerp architect Leon Stynen quickly become involved in this project, however, they never really agree on the design and the materials to be used.

- Three designs were actually produced: The original one from Magnel (an all-concrete tower), one from Leon Stynen (a transparent tower of glass), and another one from Stynen in which he tries to combine the characteristics of the previous two. When Magnel died in July 1955, the project was entirely scrapped and gave way to the Atomium.
