Description - Nikolaikirche Rostock was consecrated in 1312 and had from the mid of the 15th century until 1703, a 132 metres tall tower. In 1703, this tower was destroyed by a strong storm and afterwards rebuilt until 1706 at a height of 84 metres.
- Nikolaikirche Rostock was severely damaged in 1942 during World War II air raids. In 1948 the choir was reconstructed. In 1978 the nave was reconstructed, whereby room for offices were installed in the tower and apartments in the roof. From 1991 to 1994 the church hall was reconstructed.
- While the rebuilt church was consecrated on April 21, 2002, it is no longer used regularly for parish church services, instead holding special church concerts, along with exhibitions and other city events.
