Description - The church had from the end of the 14th century, until 1945 a 103 metres tall tower
- During World War II on April 29th, 1945 the church and pinnacle of the tower were destroyed by artillery fire. The remaining stump was used after World War II for carrying antennas, and the nave remained a ruin, while the southern extension of the nave was restored with a temporary roof added between 1995/1996.
- In 2004, the building was purchased by the city of Anklam, and began in 2007 to plan for a restoration of the facility. It was restored between 2010 to 2014 for use as an exhibition and events center. A viewing platform for the public at a height of nearly 50 meters was completed in 2008.
