Description - Construction on the current church began in 1380. The nave and tower were added in a construction phase that occured from 1474 to 1557, with the tower having been funded by the city government. It would not be until 1933 that the church would have ownership of the tower.
- The church was heavily damaged during World War II on 15 March 1945. From after to war to 1956 the interior of the church underwent and extensive reconstruction. Since 1996, much renovation has been completed including the tower (1997-2001), the roof and facade (2002-2007), and the bridal portal (2008-2011).
