Description - Parts dating back to the 13th century, the church suffered many disasters including near total destruction during air bombing raids conducted on 16 August 1944 which destroyed the 119 meter tall spire built in 1901. Work began in 1971 reconstructing the church and finished three years later without the spire.
- The new spire was completed in 2008 rising to a height of 110.18 meters.
