Description Architect: Patrick C. Keely
• Cornerstone was laid in 1866, and church was dedicated in 1868, and the finished church was dedicated by Bishop McFarland on St. Patrick's Day in 1868.
• The bell tower on the eastern end of the church was completed in 1894.
• The church became a cathedral in 1953 upon the establishment of the Diocese of Bridgeport, which was seperated from the Diocese of Hartford.
