Description
Originally constructed for Caixa Econômica Federal (Brazil main Federal Savings Bank), which still a bank agency at ground floor remains, the structure was bought by the Tribunal Regional Federal da Terceira Região in 1989 and subsequently renovated, and official reopened by Tribunal on 22 February 1999.

The Regional Federal Court of the Third Region was created together with others four Regional Federal Courts, for the Constitution of 1988 (article 27, § 6 and * 186;, of the Act of the Constitutional Transitory Arrangements), with the objective to substitute and regionalizing the jurisdiction of the extinct Federal Court of Resources (TFR).

The Regional Federal Courts were inaugurated simultaneously thirst in Sao Paulo, Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre and Recife on the 30th of March of 1989, and they had his initial compositions predicted in the law #186; 7.727, of 1989.
