• Though detailed in Beaux-Arts French Classical style, it appears more Victorian, due to its vertical massing, contrast of light limestone and dark brick facade, and also, ornate details throughout the building.
• The original dome was replaced by a tall lantern during a restoration in the 1970s.
• It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.
